What happened to the Propellerheads

Remember the Propellerheads?
Even it was not TripHop - I don't know where else I could post this question...
What happened to them?
1998, they released their fantastic, mind-blowing album "Decksandrumsandrocknroll", one year later was "Crash EP" released and then, they disappeared...
I tried to find something on the Web, but all I got is, that Will White was hospitalized with a serious illness in 1998...
and if I look at the cover of the "Crash EP", I can read: "written and produced by Alex Gifford".
Now what happened to Will White?
What happend to the Propellerheads-Project? They just started beeing successful!
Anybody knows? Maybe are some people from Californa here, who probably know a bit more...
