New Baxter Album

I finally got the new Baxter album from this website in Sweden. And I am disappointed. I tried for the last few days to get into the album but cant. Which is sad since Baxter?s first album is one of my favorite albums ever. I think I understand why Maverick refused to distribute the album in the US. There is only one song with break beats, and the rest are rather down tempo. The last 5 songs are so slow its painful. And unlike the first album that had slow songs that were great because the lyrics were perfect the slow ones here just seam to drone on.

I don?t know why there are so few break beat / pop records out there, like Mono. I think the break beat (drum & bass) sound is really the future and bands seem to be experimenting with it and then just as quickly dropping it. Kinda sad, reminds me of how the shoegazer/dreampop scene came and went so fast. Sniff!
