new Massive Attack LP: 100th Window
just read following MA news on Dotmusic.com (will also be on my frontpage as soon as I get hom e from work):
Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja has confirmed that the title of the long-awaited follow-up to 'Mezzanine' is '100th Window', a reference to the threat posed to individual privacy by the Internet.
As reported previously on dotmusic, the album is largely the work of Robert Del Naja since Daddy G has virtually slipped out of the frame. Del Naja claims that until recently he hadn't seen or heard from his band mate in six months.
'100th Window' features guest appearances from Damon Albarn, Sinead O'Connor and long-time Massive Attack collaborator, Horace Andy.
A single from the album entitled 'Special Cases' is set for release on February 10 with the album expected to follow close behind.
The album's title is explained on the official Massive Attack site as relating to a book written by Charles Jennings and Lori Fener.
In Del Naja's words this address "the idea that no matter how careful u are, no matter how many security devices u have on your windows, u will leave just 1 of them unprotected-everyone can and will know everything about u and there will be truly nowhere left to hide."
Meanwhile, Del Naja has aready-begun work on a follow up which is said to feature collaborations with Mos Def and Tom Waits.
The full track listing for '100th Window' is as follows:
'Future Proof'
'What Your Soul Sings'
'Everywhen'
'Special Cases'
'Butterfly Caught'
'A Prayer For England'
'Small Time Shot Away'
