the Infadels

Right, anyone situated in the UK might already know this band... but probably not. For the rest of you; it's friggin' GREAT!

The Infadels is a typical "love/hate" band, and I've seen reviews stretching from Nobel prize nominations to people claiming it's unoriginal and weak. Then again, some goofers said that about Nirvana and the Prodigy, too.

The album is structured as a rock album, with more-than-your-average-elec-rock-band focus on synths and electronic sounds. They don't re-invent the wheel, but they've found an unique balance and a soundscape unlike anything I've heard. According to themselves, it sounds like "The little guy screams, the thin guy smashes his guitar, the stocky fella stomps around swinging his bass above his head, the hairy one jumps about four foot in the air and lands on his keyboard and the really tall one smashes the drums so hard the others are all deaf. Electronic rock and roll... "

And they just do it so WELL! Everything from the arrangements to the mastering to the lyrics to the extremely hummable tunes are just tailor made to make your feet and hands go that way you don't realise they're doing on the bus until you realise a bunch of people are staring at you in disbelief.
