i've been searching 8 years to find this song! please help

about 8 years ago i heard this song on my way from boston to heathrow that has been implanted in my head ever since. i didn't know it at the time, but what i heard that day 8 years ago was trip hop.

the song features a male vocalist and has a riff played over and over again in the song by either a trumpet or the instrument that's used in smoke city's 'underwater love' after the vocalist sings 'after the sun comes rain again.'

for some reason that riff reminds me of the theme darth vadar's theme song in the empire strikes back.

does anyone know what song i'm talking about?
