If you like Trip Hop you might like this...
I was scribbling in another thread, and I realized that some of you Trip Hop fans might also like the following music, it's not Trip Hop but has some interesting textures:
Indio, "Big Harvest" a really cool album from 1989 with a lot of interesting instrumentation and some cool percussion. Uses samples in a very interesting way. Borrows a lot of ethnic sounds without stealing. Very cool album.
Zawose & Brook, "Assembly" another cool album by a Tanzanian musician/singer and a Canadian producer/musician. Not in English, but who cares. Cool combination of traditional singing and instruments with modern electronica and sampling. Another highly textured album. Highly recommend this one, but it is hard to find. Check in the international section of your music store.
I have some others to recommend, if you are interested.
