To me trip hop will always be the sound of Blue Lines, totally original, both dark and light at times, uplifting and meloncholic. If anyone is interested the vocalist who started this whole genre Shara Nelson has a new album due out in the spring, going back to her roots she has ditched the rnb sound and gone back to deep and dark dubby sounds working with Adrian Sherwood from On-U sounds. The first single is called "Nobody Else" and is out very soon. Also similar vocalists Nicolette and Jhelisa have new albums out this year too.
