need expert triphop advice
That should get all the insufferable, immodest, intelligent people to reply. Just got into Trip-hop more recently. I like female voices a lot and rarely find male voices to be interesting combination with the sounds that trip-hop tends to explore (I think it's that male voices aren't innocent or angelic enough to get the underground eden feeling.) I became aware of trip-hop through Massive Attack 98 LP and Portishead Dummy. Obviously those are seen as two of the Meccas of the trip-hop world. Anyway got a Zero Seven simple things suggestion and like them, although their lyricists' sounds seem to veer toward what VH1 might try to put on. And they use a bunch of crappy male voices on a couple of tracks. Halou is cool too. Looking for female voices and stronger beats and bass (Massive). Anybody (albums) worth looking at would be much appreciated. I am a fan of No Doubts Return to Saturn as well (Im sure that is sacreligious to say at a site like this, but if there are any sounds like that album that anyone knows that would be appreciated)
