Introduction to Trip Hop Reccomendations

I think that we may have had this discussion at some point in the past but it has been at least a few months and I?m sure that we?ve all discovered a lot of new music since then. Anyway, I am one of those people who is so immersed into trip hop and its surrounding genres that I have kind of lost track with what is accessible to other people. So what I need are some good suggestion for trip hop, illbient, downbeat, or lounge tracks that are good enough to get people interested in the genre but aren?t so experimental and weird that they?ll scare people away. I kind of have an idea of what I want to do but I?m a little afraid that it will come out like an industrial fan starting his friends out with Einst?rzende Neubaten, so I?d kind like to see some other people?s suggestions before I post any of the tracks that I was thinking of.
