Lamb
Biography
Lamb (featuring knob-twister/bassist Andy Barlow and singer Lou Rhodes) released their first disc in '96, featuring a driving drum-'n'-bass fueled Trip Hop sound, showcased in singles Cotton Wool and Goreki -- but it's hard to pick out singles from the overall strength of this debut. Following up with 99's Fear of Fours, the sound becomes more lush and varied and reveals a different side to Rhodes' versatile voice, melding the earlier soprano nymph quality with an almost Eartha Kitt like cat's-purr soul. A must group for anyone jonesing for what we all lost when Kelli Dayton left The Sneaker Pimps. P.S. They're brilliant live -- a must see!
