Goldfrapp

Goldfrapp are the Duo of Allison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory. They came together through a tape of Alison that had been given to Will by a friend. that was the beginning of a "tape-friendship" : Alison sent him tapes with her songs and music she liked, Will sent her tapes of Ennio Morricone, Shifrin or Nyman and they noticed that they had very much in common their love for Italian 60's soundtrack composers and their common love for beautiful peaceful landscapes and mountains- so they decided to work together, combining their talents, skills and long experience in the music business. Both of them are quite long in the music business : Alison Had worked together with many artists like Tricky (Pumpkin), Add N to (X) (Revenge of the Black Regent), Orbital or Ian Simmonds (aka "Juryman") , the founder of "The Sandals" (The Moot...). Will has composed quite a lot of movie soundtracks, that explains why their music somtimes resembles strongly to a soundtrack. They both have quite high expactations and standarts for music and are getting bored by musc just too easily, so that they are trying hard to make music that don't bores themselves or anyone else. "The important thing is the intensity of the music, the music has to be able to carry you away." said Will Gregory, and I think they absolutely achieved this aim.
