Dreamfield
"Dreamfield expertly combine the chilling down-tempo beats of trip-hop, with the dreamy, seemingly fragile musicality of the more dreamier female fronted 4ad bands. pretty and haunting, the voices of the two female singers work well with the heavily textured soundscapes swelling underneath"...(listen.com) The band were formed by songwriting partners Poppy Gonzalez (ex Mojave 3 & Sing-Sing among others) and - Gregg McKella (well known on the London circuit playing his 'psychedelic clarinet' for Paradise 9 & Jeanette Murphy) - they found the perfect third member in Amy Tucker from Springfield MA (who honed her vocal harmony skills with Boston acapella band The Whims). Listing 'dub, trip-hop, psychedelia & cheesy latin 60s music' as some of their influences, Dreamfield have a 'penchant for long brooding notes of an sonic nature' and specialize in a trippy electronic/organic instrument mix which makes for a intoxicating coctail distinctly their own. Their debut single 'Take Me With You' was released to much critical acclaim, followed by the popular 'Christopher's Dream' CD single, (both available online at cd baby) - they are currently writing and recording their long awaited debut album which is pencilled for release later this year. Live performances in Europe & USA include an accoustic set at CJM in NYC and a televised live performance at the Charlie Chaplin Museum of Modern Art in Estonia, the latTer they say, being the perfect Dreamfield venue. Described by one reviewer as '"cabaret pop and the Chemical Brothers. a juxtaposition of the Bacharach-soaked, electronics and that somewhat sinister Bad Seeds sound" Enjoy the trip....
