DJ Shadow
He established instrumental Trip Hop and is also one of the pioneers of Trip Hop, with the only difference that he played that stuff and experimented with abstract Hip Hop. His first LP "Endtroducing", released in 1996 is big contribution to Trip Hop and most of the songs really kicks ass. He was the first american who has been put into the Trip Hop corner, after the releases of Portishead, Masive Attack and Tricky. On 1997 he released another double LP "Preemptive Strike", containing a Mix CD by Dj Q-Bert and a collection of his rare and hard to find previous works like all parts of "what does yours soul look like, plus two new songs: "High Noon" and "Organ Donor (extended overhaul)" Dj Shadow was the main act of MO WAX, alongside with UNKLE , the band he had together with James Lavelle, the Head of MOWAX. Now, MO WAX has been sold, Dj Shadow has left U.N.K.L.E. Now he's quite active with the label Quanum Records and also collaborates with Ninja Tune. His latest work has been a soundtrack for the movie "Dark Days" and he's now busily working on his new LP which will be out January or February 2002.
