Day One

Day One are Phelim Byrne and Donnie Hardwidge - a duo who met while busking the boards of their Bristol home town. A tape of theirs ended up at Massive Attack's Melankolic label. And once they'd listened to Day One, Melankolic had no choice but to sign them... Day One make music to die for. Laid-back hip hop with acidic irony-laden narratives wrapped in melancholic strings and acoustic guitars. Some of their songs resembles a bit the massive attack style (paradise lost) the rest is a unique mixture between hip hop and guitar pop -hope to hear more by them in future and glad to see that there are also young new talent in the bristol scene.
