Blue Foundation

The Copenhagen-based six-piece collective Blue Foundation (DK/Jap/UK), debuted their 12-inch Wise Guy/Hollywood (on April Records/VOW) in November 2000 and saw it garner critical acclaim from both clubbers and jazz buffs in Japan, as well as that coveted number 7 slot in the Macedonian pop charts, was chosen as one of the best 12" 2000, in Groove Magasine(Japan).Their first album, the imaginatively titled Blue Foundation, is an awesome mixture of partly gloomy and hip hop driven beats and the awesome female vocals by Kir, which doesn't have to hide behind such names as bjork or Stina Nordenstam. The male vocals are done by MC Jabber and are laid back rap. All of this is orchestrated with a wide range of instruments, so it doesn't sound too electronical at all, and really touches your soul.
