Beauty's Confusion
You just got rejected and hurt. Your room is silent; the only sounds you hear are the rain and your own breathing. Then the phone rings. It's the person who hurt you. You scream into the phone. You throw it against the wall. Your heart is pounding. The tears flow. You stare at the wall for hours. All you do is think. You come up with no answers. You remember all the beautiful times when you were kissing your significant other. You stare at the wall. All you do is think. The pain is beautiful and real. The feelings are confusing as hell. Beauty's Confusion formed by one simple jam session in summer 2001. One dark & rainy day (how fitting!), multi-instrumentalist/producer Skip (aka DJ Moxx) invited fellow multi-instrumentalist/producer Joel over to his studio because they both shared a love for Portishead, Moby, Bowery Electric, and Hooverphonic. They sat down at the computer, turntables, and keyboards, and six hours later decided to search for a female vocalist to complete their musical ideas. A short search led them to Jenna Ferone: a young, outspoken talent who had never been in a band before and shared the same musical interests as the two. Since then, BC has been an ever-evolving blend of somber trip-hop, dismal indie rock, and ambient atmospherics. Influenced by all styles of music and intelligent movie dialogue, the band's love for diversity has gained them a loyal fanbase in a short amount of time. Beauty's Confusion has gained much respect, more than most electronica-based bands which never play live, by performing the music they first record, and successfully duplicating that recorded sound live. BC shows are always hypnotic, energetic, and mentally stimulating (one can expect to hear movie dialogue and samples in between songs throughout their set). It's all about blending movies, music, and conversation all in one show. Through the many artistic forms (film, music, dialogue, books), therein lies beautiful confusion and chaos.
