Amstrong
The young Danish quartet Amstrong have been discovered at the Popkomm in Cologne in 1998, when the german label Clearspot got hold of a copy of their demo tape. They described thir music on "Sprinkler" as 'slow motion ambient acid', a spacy mixture of synthisizer waves drak slow bass, downpitched drums and trippy loops. Their sound is quite dark and melancholic, due to the beautiful alt-vocals of singer Marie-Louise Munck. The second thing you'll notice when you listen to Sprinkler is that every song is about 10 minutes long, so its not a cd you can capture simply by skip and fast forward "The songs have an extended length to anable the listener to dive into the music" says Jacob Length, bassist of the quartet from Kopenhagen. So you should take some time to discover Amstrong.
